Spring Trends 2012 :: Brights

This post is inspired by Wendy’s Look Book Video on Spring Trends.  Have you noticed all the bright colors that are on trend this season?  I’m indulging in these brights and from my past posts it is evident that I’m obsessed with coral.  When you pair your brights with a complimentary color or prints you create a bold look and you also create color blocking which is another fun spring trend.

Here’s a fun example of how you can create effortless style with wardrobe basics such as a cardigan and neutral pumps as wells as pairing it with jewelry wardrobe basics such as statement earrings, delicate necklace, bracelet, ring and statement necklace.  With these basics, the dress is transformed into two different looks.

Cardigan: J. Crew

Shoes: Jimmy Choo

Jewelry: Stella & Dot

Campari Statement Necklace :: From Classic to Casual Fun

I am absolutely in love with Stella & Dot’s Spring 2012 collection.  Yes, I have a few pieces…but my favorite piece is the Campari Necklace.  I’ve been wearing it with so many different outfits.  Many times I am told “oh that such a beautiful piece, but I could never get away with wearing such a piece”.  Ladies, utilizing a fabulous statement necklace can absolutely maximize your wardrobe.

The Campari Necklace is very light and eye catching!  It is following two of the trends this season – tribal sophisticated and red.  It can be worn with both solids and prints.  The faceted gold beads interspersed with the red beds give it a little bling.  The clasp is a show piece in itself – GORGEOUS – wear short or long, in the back or the front.

2012 Color of the Year:: Tangerine Tango

How are you going to update your Spring wardrobe this year?  The easiest way, inject some color to your wardrobe.  The 2011 color of the year, PATONE Honeysuckle, which encourage us to face everyday trouble with verve and vigor.  This year, let’s inject a spirited orange such as Tangerine Tango.  Tangerine Tango continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.  Sounds like a great color to me.

Does that seem like a scary color to you?  The best way to incorporate this with your wardrobe is to find an orange/tangerine tango that compliments your skin tone.

How to Wear it: Simply add some key pieces to accent your wardrobe and then pair it with a more neutral color.

Statement Piece Dress Up

Statement Piece Dress Up

As promised, I’m taking the same jewels from my Rocker Chic post and adding a twist with a cocktail dress.  My point is to show you the versatility that jewelry can do to your wardrobe.  If you are bold enough try adding a statement piece to your wardrobe.  The best way to start is find a statement piece that compliments your skin tone.

Today’s Style Paring: Playing off a Print

Playing off a Print

It’s always fun to play off of a print and utilizing your accessories is a great way to change up your jeans and a blouse look.  Although an animal print can be fairly neutral, try to pull out a color that makes a statement and mix it into your outfit.

I’m a fan Wendy’s Lookbook.  She’s got great style and great styling tips.  Some of my inspiration comes from her tips and looks.  She has THE BEST SCARF video, that is a must see!

When you get ready in the morning what is your first piece that you draw inspiration from?  For me, it’s the jewelry!  :)

Rocker Chic: Rose Gold accessories

Rocker Chic

Another paring that I believe is effortless.  What I want to focus on is the fact that a statement piece can easily change the look of any outfit.  The Femme Fetal Necklace by Stella & Dot definitely gives it more of a rocker chic look especially when the leather jacket is thrown into the mix.

Do you have a statement piece necklace in your jewelry wardrobe basics?  Or do you try to stay away from statement pieces?  What holds you back from wearing a statement piece?  Stay tuned for the same necklace with a different outfit.

Jeans and a Blouse

Jeans and a Blouse

Hi everyone!  I like to create looks that effortless and with pieces that attract my eye.  I’m am so thankful that tunics are in!  I love mixing the look of a free flowing shirt with a pair of skinny jeans.  After having two kids and not having a physique that allows me to wear a nice pair of fitted jeans and a fitted t-shirt…that just doesn’t work anymore.  All I can do with that is embrace it and camouflage what I can.
